Act Now to Urge Congress to Create a Lions Commemorative Coin

Lions across the world will celebrate 100 years of service when the organization celebrates it’s 100 anniversary in 2017.  The Sandy Springs Lions Club in Maryland proposed a commemorative coin, and Rep. Peter Roskam of Illinois has sponsored HR 2139 to create this coin.  There are currently 38 cosponsors, and the bill has gained bipartisan support.

International President Sid Scruggs has asked that Lions across the United States help by asking their congressmen to co-sponsor the bill.  The goal is to have 150 co-sponsors by the International Convention in July.

In order for the bill to pass, it must gain the support of 290 members of the House of Representative and 67 Senators.

As of June 7 , none of Mississippi’s Congressional delegation has signed on to sponsor the bill.

Call your Congressmen and ask that they co-sponsor and support HR 2139.
